Dieting and FatsIn 1988, Dr. C. Everett Koop, proclaimed ice cream as a threat to public health similar to tobacco consumption. In his famous report, published in 1964, it expected that the typical American diet is characterized by high consumption of fat, this causing various diseases, those affecting the heart predilection.

The notion, according to which excessive consumption of fat shortens your life, appeared as a hypothesis, which scientists have struggled to prove it but have failed repeatedly. Some of the information related to consumption of certain products are wrong, this is explained by Dr. Koop, by creating “unhealthy products Pyramid” proposed by various researchers.

In general, people are influenced by the opinions of others, as one who finds a different result of his research has tended to accept one of the first who did a study on this. Thus arises a chain of influences, the result being approved by others due to the higher number of people who accept the first conclusion of the study. It does not seem that bad, but if the result is wrong, the situation is changing.

Fatty FoodIn terms of fatty foods, Ancel Keys, concluded in 1950 that Americans suffer greater number of different heart diseases, due to high fat consumption compared to previous generations. To support his theory, he compared the rate of heart disease in the U.S. in Japan and other countries.

In America ranked top of the list, with the increased rate compared to other countries. This has been disputed by other researchers. The large number of people suffering from heart disease was correlated with high intake of fat, but this was a controversy for some specialists, Dr. Ancel Keys has proposed such a diet for cardiac patients.

Diet and lifestyle are important factors of a healthy life as balanced diets are recommended, which includes both the consumption of carbohydrates and fats and other harmful substances that are very hypothetical, methods according to some theories that have not been clearly demonstrated.
