Smart Snacks for Diet Success

Healthy SnacksLet’s be realistic: small culinary pleasures are not just compatible with a healthy diet. But on the other hand, do not have to look at chocolate cake with colored fillings, like bombs filled with fat and calories that will ruin your diet.

With a little planning and reflection before, you may, however, enjoy the day and consume products without affecting your diet. Think about that little joys that can provide your daily meals. What are the things you enjoy? Sea breeze, a rollerblade or bike ride, your child playing?

Then, if you want to avoid products high in calories, you say with conviction: “hamburgers are not a healthy choice for me.” This dialog gives you the necessary force yourself not to deviate from the path you have chosen. Also, learn to say no and say “No thanks” when you should.

Planning your meals of the day can help also to avoid foods with a high content of calories and fat. Eat a breakfast high in fiber, protein and for lunch fruit or cereal bars. Apples, oranges, grapes and cherries can be transported safely. Green tomatoes, carrots and bell peppers and sweet little slice are other options perfect for snacks.

Eat one of these snacks between breakfast and lunch, afternoon or evening when you feel hungry. You’ll be in shape if you eat small portions every 3-4 hours during the day.

- A cup of dried fruit and 1 cup nuts
- Apples with peanut butter
- Banana with peanut butter
- 1 orange, 30 g fat cheese
- 1 cup of cereal with skimmed milk
- a sandwich: a slice of turkey breast or a slice of lean ham and 1 slice bread
- cup cut diced tomatoes and cucumber slices
- 1 whole wheat bagel with cream cheese 30 g
- 1 hard boiled egg and a slice of white bread
- 1 cup cheese and ј cup pineapple diet
- 1 cup plain yogurt and ј cup cereal diet

What you should do:

- Drink enough water during the day at least 2 liters
- Take a daily vitamin supplements
- Choose whenever possible wholemeal products
- Limit alcohol to no more than one drink a day
- Eat fruit every day, especially as snacks

What NOT to do:

- Do not skip meals or snacks
- Avoid fried dishes or rich in fat (fried potatoes, fried onions, fried fish ,…)
- Avoid chips, sauces, biscuits and white bread flour
- Do not drink alcohol, wine, beer, soft drinks and sweetened juices
- Avoid added sugar in tea, coffee, cereals …
